Malcolm and Prue wishing you a Happy 50th!

Hi Alan,
Hope you're sitting back relaxed, surprised and delighted that we are all there with you to help celebrate this monumental occasion. Congratulations on making it to the big 50!

We were trying to think how long our friendship has been and believe it began about 13 years ago on that fateful trip to Cloncurry Pony Club. Who would have thought that it was just the beginning of a wonderful friendship. We were delighted to be asked to go with you even though we didn't really know you. I remember seeing you around Pony Club and always hearing Tracey's infectious laugh. You seemed like good people.

So we were preparing for this great trip when Malcolm announced that the wheat was ready to come off and he couldn't go. So I gathered up some backup with my sister inlaw Sue and her two boys and Wade and I and off we went into the unknown. We had the adventure of a lifetime and Alan was quite the Hero of the camping ground with his 3 wives and 6 boys. We were so well looked after and feared not when the big storms came threatening to blow our campervan away.
Mid week came and Malcolm ended up joining us as the rain had come in at home and the harvest had stopped. This was the beginning of many great Pony Club adventures that spanned a few years.

We had a lot of changes over the next few years when we sold our place and moved to Toowoomba. But good friends ride those changes with you and are still there to see you through the ups and downs of life. One of the qualities that we most admire about you Alan is that once you are a mate it doesn't matter what you do your friendship remains the same. You have a very big heart for all you care about and we feel privileged to be in that company. We have enjoyed seeing our children growing up and where their lives have lead them and now they are in the next stage of marriage and umm!!! have we mentioned we are going to be Grandparents. Yes Bianca and Luke are due to have a baby on the 5th June.

So hear we are down the track and you are now officially mature. Let's hope you bring knew meaning to that in true Hewitt style. We thank you and Tracey for the wonderful years we have had so far, through lifes ups and downs and look forward to many many more. You are very special people to us.

Happy 50th Birthday Alan!!!! Have an amazing day and a fabulous year.
With much love,
Prue and Malcolm and all our Crew xx
